“The Chief cause of failure and disappointment is trading what we want most for what we want now!” (author unknown)

I think this says it all when choosing whether to workout extra hard or sleep in (today I chose to sleep in… if you call still getting up at 6:15AM sleeping in!).  This also applies to the whether we want to eat that extra late night snack after eating healthy all day as reward while watching a good movie or finish out the day on a healthy note.

I think many times the instant gratification from something we want now wins the battle of what we want in the long run in all aspects of our lives.  This ties back into a blog from a couple weeks ago about not having a bad week but of making a series of bad choices.

Enough said…. this week I will focus on what I want most!

About the author

shayne406p

I have always been pretty young for my age, and when I ran my own business building log homes, working everyday was my workout. I didn’t have to exercise to stay in shape. Then I took a desk job and things went somewhat downhill . . . physical fitness-wise. Now I have to either control what I eat much better or I have to work out. Since I love the snacks, I have to work out and have grown to almost look forward to it. I work out hard, but have poor eating habits, so my workouts are not enough to keep me in the shape I want to be. I turn 40 this year and have made a goal to get back in shape. For me, it’s going to be more eating modifications than workouts, so I’m looking forward to it.
