shayne406p

I have always been pretty young for my age, and when I ran my own business building log homes, working everyday was my workout. I didn’t have to exercise to stay in shape. Then I took a desk job and things went somewhat downhill . . . physical fitness-wise. Now I have to either control what I eat much better or I have to work out. Since I love the snacks, I have to work out and have grown to almost look forward to it. I work out hard, but have poor eating habits, so my workouts are not enough to keep me in the shape I want to be. I turn 40 this year and have made a goal to get back in shape. For me, it’s going to be more eating modifications than workouts, so I’m looking forward to it.

Boot Camp

Posted in: Weight Loss Blog|March 2, 2012

I really enjoyed the fitmixer bootcamp. It gave me a better knowledge of a healthy lifestyle instead of just claiming some magic pill that would automatically make you lose weight. The main problem that I faced before the bootcamp was working 9-10 hours a day with little time to even take lunch. I would often …

The Chief Cause of Failure and Disappointment is.....

Posted in: Weight Loss Blog|February 6, 2012

“The Chief cause of failure and disappointment is trading what we want most for what we want now!” (author unknown) I think this says it all when choosing whether to workout extra hard or sleep in (today I chose to sleep in… if you call still getting up at 6:15AM sleeping in!).  This also applies …

Almost there.... Where is there?

Posted in: Weight Loss Blog|January 30, 2012

So this boot camp is almost over and that means that I am almost there!  Well, I guess the question is “where is there?”  Did I reach my weight loss goal and fat % goal?  Not unless I catch a couple of very, very bad stomach flu’s over the next week or two… So am …

WTF - Wait Til Friday seemed to work!

Posted in: Weight Loss Blog|January 16, 2012

It seems like those scales have such a influence on how I feel about my progress in this competition and about my fitness in general.  My posting last week discussed WTF – Wait Til Friday because I was going to do a Bod Pod test again.  My hope was that my Bod Pod was more …

WTF - Wait Til Friday!

Posted in: Weight Loss Blog|January 9, 2012

WTF – Wait Til Friday!  This is my montra for this week!  Somehow I seemed to do better over the break between Christmas and New Years… At least that is the feedback just from the scale this morning.   Very weird! The reason I say “Wait Til Friday” is that I am going to try to …

The Holiday’s are officially over and that means no more excuses!  Its game on now and I plan to see some hard effort going in on my part…..  Gotten into some bad habits this past month with the sweets and not really following what I should be doing with the meals and foods.  Also  been …

Sick for the Holiday's!

Posted in: Weight Loss Blog|December 27, 2011

Well…. there is nothing like being sick for the Holiday’s!  Just now getting treated for Strep Throat that I’ve had for a week.  Lots of treats and not an ability to workout due to illness…to be honest, I’m a bit worried to get back home and weigh in but want to get back on a …

Those Dang Weekends keep coming!

Posted in: Weight Loss Blog|December 19, 2011

OK… so all during the week I seem to do pretty good and the scale also confirms that. Friday of last week, I was down 4lbs from the Monday weigh in and I was pretty motivated going into the weekend because I had planned to be at least 10lbs down from my starting weight come …

Those Dang Sweet's!

Posted in: Weight Loss Blog|December 12, 2011

Well…. turning 40 was harder than I thought.  Actually turning 40 was easy, I just woke up and magically I was “over-the-hill” so speak. I made a promise to myself I wouldn’t let that get me down. I did a double workout on my birthday just to prove I still had it, not that I …

SCH-40-6P - What does that even mean?
